This is the story that inspired the novel Loveandpizza.it. As I've explained here<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/strong>, started as a \u201crevenge novel\", one that I never thought would get out of my journal, not to mention inspire such a lovely romance to write - and read!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the beginning was the word. And it was spoken in hundreds, maybe thousands of different ways. There weren\u2019t written letters or documents with signatures, and if you said something and \u2018gave your word\u2019, it was more valuable than your own mother!<\/span><\/p>\n

Trust; where has it gone, I wonder. In a world where not even \u2018I love yous\u2019 can be taken totally seriously. There will always be a sweet na\u00efve girl crying somewhere because just the words weren\u2019t enough! And isn\u2019t that ironic that this same girl can understand the same \u2018I love you\u2019 in at least five different word-ways?<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, maybe if she could understand the German words for saying \u2018Eu te amo\u2019, instead of the snob French, she would have been with a better man now. Or she should have heard them call her 'Bella<\/em><\/span> ragazza\u2019<\/span><\/i>, ou '<\/span>mia principessa<\/span><\/i>'. Italian men are so romantic!<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the story of a real <\/span>bella ragazza<\/span><\/i>, who was tired of having her life shaped for her, and decided to embrace the world (more specifically the map of the citt\u00e0<\/em> of Napoli and the geography around Mount Vesuvius) to find out who she really was.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, our \u201conce upon a time\u201d begins now, where she is sitting at her desk; her medicine books on one side; her mobile on the other side. She looks at their picture, right in front of her, but at the same time she looks at nowhere. Only tears filling her eyes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018What did I do wrong?\u2019 she thinks. \u2018I thought we were so in love. Why did he have to move so far?\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She wipes her eyes and stands up, trying to regain courage to go back to her books.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Oh, come on now, Miss Carolina! You have a horrible test tomorrow and it\u2019s already past midnight! Let\u2019s quit the self pity thing and let\u2019s get to work!\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She goes to the bathroom, washes her face, looks at the mirror and sticks her tongue out:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Jean, you are such a jerk! Blahhhh!\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Her anger drags her to the kitchen to grab something to eat and a cup of coffee to keep her awake for some time more.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the way back to the bedroom, she is tempted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Er\u2026 another quick check in my emails won\u2019t hurt, will it?\u2019\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And for her surprise, there actually is an email:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Email<\/p>\n

\u2018Argh! And he says he misses me? If you can call THIS an email\u2019, she thinks, wishing he was at the reach of her hand, so she could punch him in the face really strong .<\/p>\n

She snaps her laptop shut, and takes another trip to the kitchen.<\/p>\n

\u2018I DEFINITELY deserve another chocolate bar!\u2019<\/p>\n

Vendo Carolina voltar para o quarto e, desta vez, pensando seriamente em dar o seu melhor nos estudos, Clara, sua irm\u00e3 mais velha, gostaria que Carolina tivesse escolhido uma vers\u00e3o italiana de \u2018Eu te amo\u2019. Pelo menos os italianos s\u00e3o mais bonitos! “Ela \u00e9 t\u00e3o bonita, t\u00e3o jovem”, Clara pensa. “Como ela pode estar t\u00e3o cegamente apaixonada?”<\/p>\n

And that is something for you, readers, to find out. It might be crazy to think, but totally possible. What if for this poor little girl there was never a \u2018in the beginning there was the word\u2019? Not written, or spoken or heard. Just the eyes talking or just a loving, tender touch of a hand. No \u2018I love yous\u2019 could ever be misunderstood!<\/p>\n
