Right, you are about to dive in Loveandpizza.it and follow Carolina on her adventures in the bella citt\u00e0<\/em>\u2026 If you haven\u2019t read the novel yet, I invite you to take a peek at Carolina\u2019s interview and find out what her expectations were before she went on that plane to Napoli.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/u>Interviewer<\/span><\/strong><\/span>:<\/span> So\u2026 at the beginning of the story, we see you arriving back in Napoli. Why did you leave Napoli in the first place?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Haha. You don\u2019t mess about, do you? Straight to the point. Sorry, but I can\u2019t talk about the story. You will need to read the book for that. If I give out too much, the author will be really mad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span> Ok, ok. I get it. Let\u2019s start with some basic questions then.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>That\u2019ll be better.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> Right. What\u2019s your full name?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> Carolina Lombardi Cappucci.<\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> And you were born in Sao Paulo, right?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Not really. I moved to Sao Paulo to study, but I\u2019m originally from a small town in the countryside.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>I see. And is it true that you studied Medicine?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Yep. Six years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, and I\u2019ve become Dr Carolina Lombardi Cappucci. Even though I have no idea what to do now that I have my degree.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> What do you mean?<\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> Well, the truth is \u2013 and I can say this now because my family already knows \u2013 I\u2019m not sure I want to be a doctor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Really? But that\u2019s a big decision to make, isn\u2019t it? Especially after all those years you spent at uni\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> I know.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>So, is that the reason you\u2019re going to Napoli to teach English? Is it just for a year you\u2019re going?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> Yes, that\u2019s the reason. It\u2019s supposed to be for a year, but you never know, eh? (Carolina winks)<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Yeah, I guess you never know. So, can you speak Italian at all?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Well, I\u2019m not fluent, but I studied it for a year while I was at uni, and it\u2019s really similar to Portuguese, so I think it\u2019ll be easy to learn. Besides, I\u2019ll be teaching English, so I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll be speaking much Italian anyway\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> Unless you meet someone\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> Haha. Of course I\u2019ll meet someone. I\u2019ll meet a lot of someones.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>You know what I mean\u2026 Meet a guy. Are you single, Carolina?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u> <\/strong><\/span>Yep. Recently cheated on and dumped. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I\u2019m planning on never falling in love again.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>You should never say never, Carolina.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>As I said, sorry to burst your bubble, but this girl here has had enough of this thing called love.(quotation marks in the air)<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span>\u00a0So, you don\u2019t want to have children either?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> I would love to have children, but then, again, you need to fall in love and get married for that to happen, right? So\u2026 (Carolina shrugs)<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> Ok, ok. Let\u2019s change subject. Are you a religious person, Carolina?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> I believe in God. I am a Catholic and I often go to church on Sundays, and I pray. I also believe that no matter what religion you follow, doing good to people is what matters, don\u2019t you think?<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> I agree. So, you said you\u2019re not sure you want to be a doctor, that\u2019s why you\u2019re going to Napoli. What are your expectations?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Expectations? I\u2019m not really sure, to be honest. I think it\u2019s going to be a brilliant year, though. I want to visit as many places as I can, and learn as much as I can, and meet new people, and get to know myself. I guess those are my expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Do you have any hobbies?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u> <\/strong><\/span>I love taking photos! I take photos of everything! My mother always says that she doesn\u2019t understand how I can take so many photos but I am rarely in one!<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>That will be perfect for you then, won\u2019t it? Napoli and its surroundings are beautiful places for great photos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> I know! I\u2019m very excited about that and\u00a0<\/span>I can\u2019t wait to visit all the amazing places I\u2019ve seen in my guide!<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Any other interests?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I love learning new things, so I tend to buy books on stuff I want to know more about. One of the first things I think I\u2019m going to buy is a cook book, so I can learn to cook all those delicious Italian dishes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>What\u2019s your favourite food?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> Pizza\u2013<\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Perfect! You\u2019re going to the right place, then.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>\u2026 and chocolate!<\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> Chocolate? Any chocolate?<\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> My favourite one is<\/span> Lindt\u2026. The taste of paradise\u2026<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>E quanto \u00e0 m\u00fasica? Voc\u00ea gosta de m\u00fasica italiana?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u> <\/strong><\/span>I like a bit of everything, I guess. I like dance music, and I like classical music, and pop. I\u2019m a great fan of Bon Jovi and U2. I don\u2019t like heavy metal or funk, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>How about reading. Do you have a favourite book?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Oh, yes. The Little Prince, I guess. It\u2019s a classic, isn\u2019t it? I also love chick lit and a good crime book. At the moment, I\u2019m reading a book my sister, Clara, recommended about Jack, the Ripper. It\u2019s called Portrait of a Killer, by Patricia Cornwell. Write it down so you can read it. It\u2019s really good.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> Favourite film?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Oh, it\u2019s got to be \u201cLetters to Juliet\u201d. It\u2019s so romantic and sweet. Not to mention that my great-grandparents were from Verona. I love romantic comedy films and thrillers. I\u2019ll watch a horror movie, but I usually get terrible sleep afterwards \u2013 if any\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>What do you do when you\u2019re happy?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I can\u2019t stop smiling. Oh, and I eat chocolate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>: <\/span>And when you\u2019re angry?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> I tend to swear, but not too bad words. I\u2019ll say \u201cshit\u201d sometimes. And now I\u2019ve learned cazzo, I think I\u2019ll be saying quite a few of them. (chuckles) Oh, and I eat chocolate. (Carolina grins)<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>When you\u2019re sad?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>When I\u2019m sad, I just need to be on my own. I write. And eat chocolate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>What can a person do to cheer you up?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Give me chocolate. Haha. No, seriously. Come to me with good news, even if they\u2019re not for me. It makes me happy when I see people I love happy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ent<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>What can a person do to annoy you?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Be unfair towards me or other people. Oh, and chew gum with their mouths open, like a cow. That really drives me nuts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Is there anything you do that you know annoys people?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Haha. That\u2019s a good question. Lisa would say that I make people guess what I have to say. I start saying something, or will ask a question, like guess what? She hates it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>You mentioned Lisa. You must be really good friends, to be going on this huge adventure together\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span> Yes, she\u2019s my best friend. I inherited (quotation marks in the air) her from my oldest sister, Clara. We get on really well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>What do you like best about her?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Ah, what <\/span>not <\/i><\/b>to like about her? I guess that my favourite thing about her is that she\u2019s got an answer for everything and she\u2019ll always tells me what she thinks. No matter how bad it is.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> And what do you like least about her?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Same answer as before. Haha. And also the fact that she\u2019s almost always right.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>: <\/span>Any funny memories from your childhood?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>Oh, yes! Who hasn\u2019t? When I was 10, I told my mum that I\u2019d seen my oldest sister kissing a boy from our street. My mum got really mad at her. I was very upset, because we\u2019d always been very close, and I felt bad about that. Clara still gets mad at me when I talk about it in front of our parents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Your biggest fear?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0I\u2019m terrified of losing someone close to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> Have you got a secret?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Come on, if I told you, it wouldn\u2019t be a secret anymore, would it?<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> You are the kind of person who\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Would probably bump into you in a shop, or in the street. Also, someone who\u2019d be trying to break a fight \u2013 I\u2019ve done that loads of times with my sisters.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span>\u00a0Why do you think the reader will like Carolina?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>I\u2019m not sure, but I really hope they will. I\u2019m going off on an adventure to discover myself. I can imagine so many girls have the same wish. Hopefully, my story will give them the motivation they need! Besides, one of my friends said to me the other day that I\u2019m going on a \u201cEat Pray Love\u201d type of adventure, but she wouldn\u2019t mind some \u201c50 shades of Grey\u201d updates from me as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Int:<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/span>That\u2019s an interesting comment. So, do you think we\u2019ll see you being swept off your feet?<\/span><\/p>\n

Carolina:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Well, you\u2019ll have to wait to find out, eh? (Carolina winks)<\/span><\/p>\n
